How to eat basil leaves? Know the right method

The best way to eat basil leaves is with tea. The tea helps in preventing bacterial infections and skin infections by boosting the body’s immunity.

Basil leave is also beneficial in controlling blood sugar levels. Boil 1/4 cup basil leave it in water for one cup of tea. When it boils, reduce the heat and soak for at least ten minutes.

Mix one teaspoon of honey and two teaspoons of lemon juice and eat it. One of the best and easiest ways to get basil is to include it in your tea.

For this, first, you boil the basil leaves in water, then add other herbs of your choice and drink it. The best thing about this tea is that it is caffeine-free, and it also benefits people with high levels of red sugar.

Use basil with ghee –

You dry the basil leaves and store them. Make a powder from these leaves and mix it with ghee and eat it with bread. You can mix 1/2 teaspoon basil powder and two teaspoons ghee. You can add it to bread as well as pulses.

What are the benefits of basil leaves?

1. Basil juice relieves stress –

Put a few basil leaves in a cup of water and mix a few drops of honey in it. Eating this juice will relieve stress and increase immunity.

According to studies, the adaptive present in basil leaves helps to control stress. It relaxes the nervous system and improves blood flow. It also relieves headaches.

Eat 2-3 basil leave on an empty stomach every morning to deal with stress and headaches.

2. Useful to increase immunity –

Basil leaves help you to increase immunity. The anti-oxidant and antibiotic properties present in basil leave help to improve the body’s immunity.

Leave the basil leave at night and eat on an empty stomach in the morning.

If you make it a habit to eat basil leaves every morning, it will help keep you healthy. It is not only to cure a cold, cough but also for digestive problems. Its leaves help in proper digestion.

In addition, it also eliminates the problem of acidity and stomach irritation. Basil leave is also helpful in maintaining the pH level of the body.

What are the side effects of basil leave?

1. Harmful for teeth –

According to nutritionists, basil contains high levels of mercury and iron. Basil leaf chives release these minerals that erode and stain teeth.

It is also slightly acidic. Again the face is alkaline. So, it can ruin tooth enamel. It contains mercury and iron that is not good for our teeth.

When you chew leaves, the mercury goes into your mouth, which can damage your teeth. It also contains some amount of arsenic which can damage teeth.

Basil leaves are naturally slightly acidic, which can cause toothache. Thus, chewing basil is forbidden in Ayurveda.
