SBI Specialist Cadre Officer Exam

The SBI Specialist Cadre Officer Exam: It SBI Specialist Cadre Officer Exam is a national level civil service examination that is conducted by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (MOPG). The objective of the exam is to assess the eligibility and suitability of candidates for appointment as Senior Specialists in Cadre (SSC) in the banking and financial sector. Candidates who are successful in qualifying for the examination are appointed as SSC officers in designated banks and financial institutions.

What is a Specialist Cadre Officer exam?

A Specialist Cadre Officer exam is a preliminary requirement for applying for a commission as a specialist cadre officer in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). The exam is conducted by the Public Service Commission of India and is mandatory for all IAS officers wishing to apply for a commission. Candidates are required to score at least 50% in the exam.

Structure of the exam

The Specialist Cadre Examination (SCEx) is the main qualification for bank officers in the State Bank of India (SBI). The exam has three parts: an objective part, a theoretical part, and a practical part. 

The objective part of the SCEx is a multiple-choice question paper with 150 questions. It has six sections: banking and finance, economics, law, business administration, operations management, and human resources. 

The theoretical part of the SCEx consists of 60 questions. It covers theories about banking and finance, economics, accounting, law and corporate governance. Candidates are required to answer 40 questions from each section. 

The practical part of the SCEx is a two-day examination consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions from each section of the objective part and 30 questions from each section of the theoretical part.

Each question has four possible answers, A, B, C, D. The test is divided into two sections: Section A contains general knowledge questions and Section B contains banking sector specific questions.

They should study past papers and familiarize themselves with the format of the test. Candidates should also practice writing short answer and multiple choice questions.
