The chief engineer of the Atal Tunnel project, said the project was initially expected to be completed in less than six years.
However, it took 10 years this tunnel is about 7.8 km long.

The tunnel was built at a height of about 10,161 feet near Rohtang Pass.
According to the administration, the subway will be opened to the public soon.
After the tunnel is opened, the distance between Manali and Khlong the administrative center of Lahul-Spiti will be reduced to about 45 km.
The distance traveled the cost of transportation will be reduced by crores of rupees.

A few days ago, BRO officials said that the construction of this subway is at a very important stage.
